Each rung is measured 1 ft. wide. Red nylon straps provide a strong, durable grip for rails. Designed for compact storage, the Kidde 2-Story Fire Escape Ladder fits easily under a bed or in a closet near the window. For your safety, the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) recommends storing 1 ladder in every occupied room of your home that is above the main level. To use, simply open the Kidde Escape Ladder and place the attachment hooks over the windowsill and pull the release strap to unfurl the ladder.
